I am considering obtaining a set of 13″ Amedia Vigor Rock hi-hatts. I was wondering if I could get a sound file in which they can be heard.
The set is to replace a set of 14″ Paiste 802 Plus hi-hatts. I find them a bit too dark and lack of “singing” character (maybe wash?) when played open and they are quite blunt in playing closed.
Would the Amedia hatts improve in sound in the way I am looking for?

Video clip is my 22″ Vigor Rock ride, but in natural finish. Played here with both wood & nylon tip sticks (in that order), the bow has three distinct tones. Although a heavy ride, the wash opens up well near the edge, yet remains controlled, even under heavy sticking. Lovely bell, with deep cutting response. Stunning cymbal in both 20″ & 22″ sizes.

17″ Galata crash is full of dark tones, yet cuts through very well. Distinctive voice that opens up with little effort.

These work well in combination with the Galata crashes. A little heavier than Galata, they offer a sightly brighter, more shimmering timbre, & longer sustain of the fundamental tone. They cut through amplified music beautifully, but without being harsh.

I just love the 17″ Ahmet Legend china you made for me, the 2 rivets make it so unique, really trashy and dirty with lots of ‘sizzle’ – very old school jazz. Had some fab comments about it from the last few gigs…..keep up the genius work !
